SYNOPSIS

Visionary director Tarsem Singh (The Cell, The Fall) and producers Gianni Nunnari (300), Mark Canton (300) and Ryan Kavanaugh (The Fighter) unleash an epic tale of treachery, vengeance and destiny in Immortals, a stylish and spectacular 3-D adventure. As a power-mad king razes ancient Greece in search of a legendary weapon, a heroic young villager rises up against him in a thrilling quest as timeless as it is powerful.

The brutal and bloodthirsty King Hyperion (Mickey Rourke) and his murderous Heraklion army are rampaging across Greece in search of the long lost Bow of Epirus. With the invincible Bow, the king will be able to overthrow the Gods of Olympus and become the undisputed master of his world. With ruthless efficiency, Hyperion and his legions destroy everything in their wake, and it seems nothing will stop the evil king’s mission.

As village after village is obliterated, a stonemason named Theseus (Henry Cavill) vows to avenge the death of his mother in one of Hyperion’s raids. When Theseus meets the Sybelline Oracle, Phaedra (Freida Pinto), her disturbing visions of the young man’s future convince her that he is the key to stopping the destruction. With her help, Theseus assembles a small band of followers and embraces his destiny in a final desperate battle for the future of humanity.

IMMORTAL

Immortals are fiction story are based on story from Greece history at long time ago. This movie is about lifestyle in Greece when a new evil threaten the land. The king of the country is king Hyperion. His evilness is shown in movie when he declared war against humanity. His main goal is to search Epirus bow because this amazing bow and unimaginable power. This movie has related with the topic that I want to interpret about economic, politic, and social sector.

The first topic that relates in the movie of Immortals is about economic sector. In economic sector shows that Zeus community in Greece has a worst economic condition to develop the country. Moreover, the country doesn’t have good facilities that we have nowadays; the infrastructure of the country is not strategic for community to make economic activities that can make this country to be more developing. Unfortunately, the evilness of king Hyperion made Zeus community feel afraid of king Hyperion because they does not have the power to build up the county to make the country successful but the citizen of the country does not take it seriously to achieve the goals to rebuild the country. Furthermore, Theseus one of citizen does not give up, he has been trained in the military arts by a mysterious Old Man (John Hurt) who encourages him to be a protector of all humanity;  he gather and give motivation to gain economic for his country.

Secondly, the topic I will discuss in this movie is about politics. Politic will give an impact in order to build one country. The movie show king of the country was a greedy man as he controls the empire. He doesn’t care about the citizen and become a cruel king. King Hyperion has a power of evilness that could fight with their god rule in the country of Greece. Hyperion's forces destroy Theseus's village. He kills Theseus's mother in front of him and imprisons Theseus, where Phaedra and her attendants are also kept. Phaedra inadvertently touches Theseus and has a vision of him as either the savior of humanity or the ally of Hyperion in the destruction of the world.

 Another scene that has related with this topic was when the god has no believes to help the citizen of Greece. Besides, he wants the entire citizen to raise their country without any help or motivation from the god. King Hyperion made his citizen became his slave and he also will kill anyone that does not comply with their command. He run the country with his dictatorship and cruelness to the citizen and does not take care of social welfare his citizen. He only wants to be best among the best without know the condition of his country.

Social, refer to a characteristic of living organisms as applied to populations humans it refer to collective co-existence. Social environment in this movie is show through the citizen of country that does not believe with their god existence. Moreover, their god believes that human being cannot increase their lifestyle. Besides that, the lifestyle of citizen is believes that they cannot fight with the king Hyperion and just can be a slave for forever. Besides that, king Hyperion does not believe to his god. He just only thinks that he is the god to the citizen. Unfortunately, the citizen in both countries does not have the willpower and knowledge.

SUMMARY

In my opinion, In establishing a peaceful and developing country, as a citizen we must choose a person who can lead. A leader also plays an important role in order to develop a country. He must be fair, be responsible, honest, can be entrusted also who can make the right decision. Furthermore, a leader must keep his citizen according to economic sector that can brings benefit in develop country’s growth. Citizen can involve in economy activities such as business, agriculture, aquaculture and other. We as citizen must help each other in order to make a peaceful ambiance thus would attract more tourist and investor to our country.
